FAQ
Questions we hear most often about Kairos.
Is Kairos free?
Yes, Kairos is free to use for every church. No subscription, no per- service fee.
Does Kairos send my audio anywhere?
By default, no. Kairos transcribes audio on your own machine and detects verses locally. The only audio that leaves your network is what you choose: if you enable cloud transcription in Settings → Transcription: audio is sent to the cloud provider you configure.
What translations are included?
Ten, across English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. See Bible translations for the full list.
Can I add a translation that isn't bundled?
Not in this release. The bundled set is curated for the licensing rules around each translation. If a translation you need is missing, let us know.
What's the latency?
End-to-end, "one beat behind the speaker" is the typical experience. the same convention you'd see from any live-graphics workflow. The dominant contributors are speech recognition and your switcher's own buffering.
Does Kairos work with vMix? OBS? Resolume?
Yes to all three. Kairos sends a standard NDI source any modern switcher can consume. See Broadcast output.
Does Kairos work with Stream Deck?
Yes. Every button you'd reach for in the booth is exposed as a remote control command. See Remote control.
Does Kairos need an internet connection?
Only if you turn on cloud transcription. Detection, the Bible database, the theme designer, and NDI broadcast all run locally.
Can I use Kairos at multiple campuses?
Yes. Each campus runs its own instance with its own NDI source name ("Sanctuary", "Chapel", etc.) and switcher routing.
I'm not technical, is Kairos for me?
If you can run a soundboard, you can run Kairos. The dashboard is designed for an operator under Sunday-morning pressure, not a developer. Your first service walks through the whole flow.
