Install on macOS
Download Kairos, drag it to Applications, grant microphone access, and launch.
Kairos runs on macOS 12 (Monterey) and later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel hardware.
Install
- Download the latest macOS release for your hardware (Apple
Silicon
.dmgor Intel.dmg). - Open the disk image by double-clicking the downloaded file.
- Drag Kairos into your Applications folder.
- Launch Kairos from Applications or Spotlight.
The first launch may take a moment as macOS verifies the app.
The first launch warning
If macOS shows a warning the first time you open Kairos, right-click the app in Applications and choose Open. macOS will remember your decision and open Kairos normally from then on.
Grant microphone access
Kairos asks for microphone access the first time you start a service.
- When prompted, click OK to grant access.
- If you missed the prompt, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and turn on the switch next to Kairos.
Microphone access is required for live transcription, without it, Kairos can't hear the sermon.
Allow network access (for NDI)
If you plan to send to a switcher over NDI, macOS may also ask for local network access the first time you go on-air. Click Allow. This lets your switcher discover Kairos on the network.
Verify the install
On first launch, Kairos shows the dashboard with the live transcript on the left, the detections panel in the middle, and the queue and preview on the right. You're ready to walk through your first service.
